Kitzkrieg 1.0

www.kitzkrieg.com

Kitzkrieg is a premier builder of replica vintage vehicle kits inspired by German unobtanium.  From the Spyder to the Speedster to the Coupe, Kitzkrieg provides the Do-it-Yourself builder as well as professional shops a top quality replica vehicle kit to create something uber fantastic.

Kitzkrieg was created out of the owners’ desire to produce an alternative style of chassis and design to the already established replica world.  The Kitzkrieg chassis is a race inspired steel tubular space frame design, far different from the VW Pan based chassis that have been so prevalent over the last decades.  Each Kitzkrieg chassis is comprised of a mixture of  1.5” and 1.25” DOM steel and chromoly tubing.  Aluminum is used to closeout many points of the chassis where many others use fiberglass and other fillers.   Alan Cassell, one of the owners of Kitzkrieg states “a premium replica kit should be made of quality materials like higher grades of steel and aluminum and strong composites like top quality fiberglass and carbon fiber.”

One of the ways Kitzkrieg’s designs stand out is their interpretation of the classic Spyder.  They have opted to extend the wheelbase to 90” from the original 83” standard.  The suspension is also updated to feature double A-arm front and rear suspension.  Cassell states “We had originally planned on a 85 inch wheelbase, but we realized that there are already other great builders of the Spyder in Orange County, CA and in Indiana.  Why bite from the same apple? They do a fantastic job. Our extended wheelbase allows us to accommodate larger motors and more sophisticated transaxles. If you’re over 6 feet tall, you too should have the opportunity to build and drive a Spyder”.

Ben Stoddard, Kitzkrieg chassis designer and co-owner was insistent that the Kitzkrieg chassis designs be built to race as well as cruise the streets.  He collaborated with racing chassis builders from many different racing genres, and is extremely pleased (but never satisfied) with the result.  “There’s no reason that our kits can’t be worked hard on a track as well as cruise to a coffee shop”, Stoddard says “we’re serious about performance and safety in addition to looking good.”

Kitzkrieg will offer a few limited edition models such as their Resto-mod version of the Coupe.  Their mid-engine beast is 6” wider in rear, 4” longer wheelbase and a chopped roofline of 2.5”.   The “Chop Coupe” is set up to accept motors that range  from the Subaru 4cyl, Porsche flat 6-cyl, even the LS V8’s.  It will also accommodate 18x10 rear wheels and 18x8 fronts with room to spare.  Chris Kleber of the Kitzkrieg group adds, “Our designs aren’t just to pay tribute what has been done, but interpret new things that others will enjoy.  Build ‘em, drive ‘em, and love ‘em.”

The price for Kitzkrieg kits start at $9995 for their Speedster BASE KIT which consists of a full body with doors, hood and lid hinged and hung, attached to their chassis.  They offer a completion package that includes all parts with exception of motor, transaxle and tires for all packages as high as $23,995 for their complete Coupe kit.  Each kit is also available as a rolling chassis for additional cost, inquire with Kitzkrieg for more details, info@kitzkrieg.com  Kitzkrieg kits are also available internationally with distribution in United Kingdom and Australia.   Distribution info available on the Kitzkrieg website www.kitzkrieg.com
